As a Site Controller, your primary responsibility will be to support the Sales team. Working behind the scenes, you will ensure that all vehicles, both new and used, are processed and prepared for display. You’ll also photograph vehicles in line with brand expectations and post vehicle adverts on various platforms using best practice. This will require you to have a thorough understanding of model specifications in order to effectively present our vehicles to customers.
Utilising experience and knowledge gained, you will have the opportunity to progress into a Trainee Sales Executive role, where you will focus on converting leads into sales!
As a Trainee Sales Executive you will receive comprehensive support from experienced Sales Executives, and upper Management, enabling you to enhance your knowledge of vehicles and sales techniques. Over time, you will need to become competent in Sales administration tasks including working with various systems and upselling tools in order to consistently deliver exceptional results.
One of the key aspects of this role is gaining exposure to customer interactions and understanding the importance of effective communication. Your ability to communicate with customers will be evaluated through customer satisfaction surveys, which will serve as a measure of your success in meeting their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
By actively participating in this role, you will acquire valuable skills and experience that will contribute to your professional growth and pave the way for a successful career in sales.
As a Sales Executive, working independently is a key requirement. You will be responsible for managing customers, handling paperwork, and organising your own schedule. You will know and understand the full sales process and be able to confidently promote insurance products and other offerings that serve the customers' best interests, all without relying on management support.
Creating exceptional customer experiences are at the forefront of every decision you make, therefore you may be required to support your colleagues and other departments in order to maintain the high standards which set Dick Lovett apart.
You will also need to have great communication with the Retail Managers, Sales Managers, and also our prep department, ensuring vehicles are professionally presented to customers, recognising that it could be their dream car they are purchasing!
As a Retail Manager, your role is to lead and motivate the team to achieve optimal performance by focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs). You will be responsible for reporting, analysing, and reviewing execution strategies, constantly seeking opportunities for improvement, and implementing streamlined approaches to drive growth. You will receive help from the Sales Managers and Head of Sales to achieve this.
In addition to overseeing the team's performance, you will provide valuable support to the Sales team. This takes form in regular monthly catch-ups, where you can address any challenges or provide guidance. Coaching will be an integral part of your role, helping team members enhance their skills and develop their potential.
As a Sales Controller, you will assist and support the Sales Managers, ensuring showroom standards are maintained and effectively handle customer queries and/or complaints. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Retail Manager to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring daily enquiries and maintaining logs to ensure that all leads are promptly distributed throughout the business and acted upon in a timely manner. This proactive approach will help maximise sales opportunities and enhance customer satisfaction.
You will also be involved in reporting and analysis, identifying areas for improvement to drive the overall performance of the sales team.
Sales Manager is split into two roles - New Car Sales Manager and Used Car Sales Manger.
As a New Car Sales Manager, you will be fully accountable for overseeing the new car inventory in the showroom. This entails adhering to retail standards, managing ECOS/demo allocation to staff, communicating retail ordering quotas, and providing authorisation for dealer swaps.
As a Used Car Sales Manager you will have responsibility for the used car forecourt, ensuring compliance with retail standards. You will need to manage preparation expenses, and monitor the expenditure of approved used cars. To carry out this role, you will need to have strong market awareness and knowledge.
Regardless of the specific role, both New Car Sales Managers and Used Car Sales Managers must ensure that they review feedback from customers and employees to guarantee a high level of satisfaction.
The overall responsibility for the sales department lies with the General Sales Manager. The role oversees all roles within the team and monitors profits, loss, and budgets of the operation. As a General Sales Manager you will manage change and implement processes through the Used Car and New Car Managers.
