The Dick Lovett Group is a family-run business that has been supporting motorists in the South West of England and Wales since 1966. During this time, we’ve established strong relationships with the very best automotive manufacturers. Today we represent Aston Martin, BMW, BMW Motorrad, Ferrari, Jaguar, Land Rover, MINI and Porsche from modern sites in Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Hungerford, Melksham, Swindon and Tewkesbury.

We regularly review our company benefits as working with Dick Lovett is a lifestyle and our people are important to us. We acknowledge that different people value different things, and with this in mind, we feel we offer something for everyone to enjoy – no matter what stage you are in life.
Pay – We understand that pay is important and we regularly check our salaries against other companies to make sure we are competitive, keeping up with changes in the marketplace. We carry out a full pay review annually when we look at all people and roles on an individual basis.
Holidays – We appreciate that working within the automotive industry is very fast paced and therefore time away from the business is important. We offer a starting point of 25 days plus 8 days bank holiday when you join Dick Lovett and this increases with your length of service. We also know that flexibility is important and we allow you to buy or sell 5 days of your holiday subject to the business being able to support it. Part-time staff receive holidays on a pro-rata basis.
Pension – We fully comply with pension auto-enrolment alongside offering a contributory pension scheme to all eligible employees after a 3 month period. Entrance level to the scheme is 4.5% and this is matched by the Company. Once again in recognition of your loyalty to us, this contribution increases with length of service rising to a maximum of 7.5% contribution by the Company if matched by you. The pension scheme is a salary exchange scheme for those eligible, so you save on tax and national insurance too. We are also very proud to offer our staff the opportunity of attending meetings in company time to update them in this complex area.
Life Assurance - From day one all eligible members of staff are covered by the Company Life Assurance Scheme. This equates to 4x times your salary – giving you and your family peace of mind.
Healthcare – Your health is important and the Company offers private healthcare for all employees who have completed 2 years service at the time of the scheme renewal.
Salary Exchange – We currently offer childcare vouchers under a salary exchange scheme to allow parents an opportunity of saving some tax and NI in an area that is historically expensive. The scheme is fully compliant with HMRC regulations.
Introduction of new employees - We recognise that our employees know exactly the type of person that Dick Lovett are looking for – they would because they are at the sharp-end of the business and meet our customers first hand. That is why we pay £750 for anyone introducing a new member of staff to the group – up-front, no arguments.
Learning and development
We are committed to offer a comprehensive training programme to improve your confidence at work and to equip you with all the skills you need to do your role. Whatever your role or wherever your ambitions lie, we will tailor your training to meet your needs to allow you to do your job well... however far you want to go, we are right behind you!
Alongside each of our manufacturers offering product specific training, we offer a comprehensive induction. This takes place in the Personnel Department on your very first day in the business. You will have an opportunity to go through the company history, meet the Personnel Team and ask as many questions as you would like. You arrive at the dealerships on your second day hopefully feeling welcomed and excited to start your new career with us.
After a few months with the business, you do have the opportunity to join us for a second induction when we cover our P.R.I.D.E principles (Personal Role in Delivering Excellence) in more detail. You also get an opportunity to meet our Directors over lunch; not many businesses can say that you really do get an opportunity to talk to the most senior people in the business, whereby you really can make a difference in the way we do things.
We also carry out staff appraisals every six months to constantly review and reappraise your needs; we see this as a great way to measure the pulse of the business.
We recognise that, whatever job you do or whatever level you're at, you need to strike a balance between your work life and your home life.
We are therefore committed to offer support to every member of our staff, whether they be new parents, adoptive parents, anyone who is a carer or anyone with a disability. We work very hard to be flexible in meeting your needs alongside those of the business; in summary we feel we have a contract for everyone.
Flexible working - We offer a range of options for flexible working, be it part-time work, job sharing or term-time working. We also offer support for staff wishing to study or to take a complete break with our career break scheme of up to nine months unpaid leave.
